Coaching Certification

SPMBA strongly supports and promotes the NCCP Certification Program. Baseball Alberta requires all Rep coaches to possess, at a minimum, full NCCP Level I Certification.  In addition, coaches traveling outside of Alberta (to Western Canada Championships or National Championships) must also possess full Level II qualifications.

SPMBA will reimburse its coaches for coaching certification courses up to and including an NCCP Level II Certified designation.  Expense receipts and certificates must accompany the request for reimbursement and can be submitted to your Vice President by fax (1.866.618.7580, ATTENTION Vice President - Rep Program or Vice President - House League) or email (vprep@spmba.ca or vphl@spmba.ca).  Each request will be reviewed and approved by the Board of Directors upon the recommendation of the Rep or House League Committee.  Reimbursement is limited to the enrolment cost of the course.  Application for reimbursement of other expenses will be reviewed on a case-by-case basis.

SPMBA will NOT pay ANY fines levied by a Provincial or National body for lack of coaching certification.  This has been clearly explained to all Rep coaches and will be considered a coach/team expense.
